My friends moved houses across town. I wanted to make them something special. When I found large cookie cutters set with both a house and a holiday tree, I envisioned this pie. This pie consists of peaches and mulberries that I froze this summer. I made this using my typical mixed fruit pie recipe. PeachContinue reading “Housewarming Gift”

Another pie toy! I bought this great covered plastic serving plate at my local housewares store to use on my patio. It will be fab for taking pies to parties. I’m getting new neighbors! Hopefully I’m this excited in a few months, LOL. Also another neighbor had a baby! I was busy! I used my standard recipe of 4 cups of mixed fruit, 2 to 4 tablespoons of flour. Some nutmeg cardamom and cinnamon. I added 1 cup of sugar to the fruit right beforeContinue reading “Neighbor Galette”

Snowy Day Chiffon Pie
I’m late in posting about the fabulous online class that I did through the 92nd Street Y with Kate McDermott. We made a coconut chiffon pie. I’m smitten with smooth texture of chiffon. Kate is an amazing instructor and following her lead, it is easy to master baking. This one has a chocolate cookie crustContinue reading “Snowy Day Chiffon Pie”
Chess Pie
My neighbor Debbie made a pie for me to help me recover from all of winter’s illnesses. At Thanksgiving, we both tried Kate McDermott’s Chess Pie recipe from The Art of the Pie. This is easily one of my favorite pies. Because I wanted a bit of summer flavor and warmth, I layered a fewContinue reading “Chess Pie”
