My mom gave me her beloved Corelle pie plates. My dad worked at Corning Glass so we were big consumers of Corningware. I have fond memories of my mom’s pies and the wonderful crust from these plates. I hope to use them this weekend for the our 4th of July pies.

I made this incredible dessert using my mixed berry pie recipe. 4 cups of mulberry; 1 cup of sugar; dash of nutmeg and vanilla extract; few tablespoons of flour. Bake at 425 for 20 minutes and thenContinue reading “Mulberry pie”

Cast Iron Blueberry Crumb
Lots of folks are posting photos of pies and cakes made in cast iron frying pans. I grabbed a magazine at the store dedicated to cooking in cast iron. There even was a pie on the front cover! This is my attempt at the crumb pie.

Apple, Pear and Raisin Pie

Easter baking
My family started making a classic bread recipe a few years ago.
And then was the crostata for the Principal
I volunteered today at a vaccination clinic so I was able to get the COVID vaccine. But in the morning I made a wonderful crostata or galette for the principle of our school. We have an extra one for home as it’s easier to make two.
Table Talk Pie Store
This place has been around forever so I wanted to try it. Just stepping inside I feel like it’s a blast from the past!
Pepper and Fern Floral Design!
I did it! I traded my first pie for something else! This amazing entrepreneur in my town started this lovely floral business. She wanted to trade one of my pies for a floral design so we would have some loveliness for Easter. I received mine today and will bake her pie tomorrow!
