Ruffino Prosecco and Salted Caramel Pie Recipe This was first made by the Little Pie Company in New York City. Unfortunately, I didn’t learn about it until years after it was offered as a special edition on their menu. Luckily I found a recipe on line that I modified a bit, including adding a crumbContinue reading “Happy New Year’s Pie”

Crustless Breakfast Quiche
We were up early this morning to go skiing so breakfast needed to be ready fast. This quick and easy crustless breakfast quiche came together quickly. I used oat milk instead of cow milk and a vegan cheese to avoid dairy. I think it was the best quiche that I have ever made. Crustless BreakfastContinue reading “Crustless Breakfast Quiche”
Holiday Dinner 2021
We tend to do a roast on Christmas as we do a turkey on Thanksgiving. This year we made a rib roast and the side dishes included eggplant parmesan (with vegan cheese), roasted brussel sprouts and garlic smashed potatoes. Rib RoastI inserted pieces of garlic into the roast. Usually I put in rosemary but IContinue reading “Holiday Dinner 2021”
Christmas Breakfast Quiche
More posts to come later today but I’m quickly getting this recipe out in case someone is looking for a lovely breakfast. This can further be individualized on each plate. Many of us put sriracha on top. My son had olives on the side. My husband had a nice serving of feta cheese. Overall thisContinue reading “Christmas Breakfast Quiche”

Happy Holidays
In a move to normalize homemade gifts or small tokens of love and appreciation, I made 4 mixed fruit galettes for gifts to my friends. It is this point in the morning when I realize that I should have made 5! The crusts have buckwheat flour and whole wheat flour incorporated with white flour intoContinue reading “Happy Holidays”
Housewarming Gift
My friends moved houses across town. I wanted to make them something special. When I found large cookie cutters set with both a house and a holiday tree, I envisioned this pie. This pie consists of peaches and mulberries that I froze this summer. I made this using my typical mixed fruit pie recipe. PeachContinue reading “Housewarming Gift”
Happy Thanksgiving
Presenting my holidays pies! Pumpkin, pecan, pumpkin praline!
Pie Differences
I tend to vary my pies to cobbles, buckles, and crisps during various seasons. I’ve even dabbled making a pandowdy. This graphic illustrates the differences perfectly. For Thanksgiving a pie is traditional but vary it bit to include other varieties. Personally this is inspiring me to make a pear cobbler.
Oil Crust Pie
I made two attempts at using oil instead of butter or crisco. This morning I made a tart but could only press in the crust. In the afternoon, I tried again using another recipe when I made this gorgeous mixed fruit pie. I’ll post the recipes soon as I’m too bust eating now!
