We stopped by an amazing bakery today in Portsmouth, NH. Ceres Bakery came up in my google search for an amazing local bakery. It was just a few steps from the square in downtown Portsmouth on Penhallow Street. They’ve been around for 40 years so they must be good!
We ordered cookies, croissants, salads, and the special sammy, curried egg salad. Their website boosts beautiful pies but I was unable to make my way to the case to see what was available. I did see scrumptious fruit tarts.
The staff was helpful and kind, despite us not knowing what to order. A gal at the counter kept telling us to take our time, even though it was a very busy time. The salads came with yummy sour dough bread. While I didn’t buy a full loaf, all of the breads were beautiful well-made loaves. Ceres will definitely be a destination the next time that I’m in Portsmouth. And I’m now hooked on curried egg salad!
