Today is national pie day! Did I make lots of pies? No, just one. Last year I found this amazing recipe for a Swedish Apple Pie. This is one of those pies that you cannot eat a small slice.
Swedish Apple Pie
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

5 apples, peeled, cored and sliced thinly
1 t. cinnamon
1 t. plus 1 c. sugar
12 T. butter, melted
1 C flour
1 egg
¼ t. salt
*In a bowl, combine apples, 1 t. sugar and cinnamon
*Fill a 9” pie plate with sliced apple mixture.
*In a separate bowl, combine melted butter, 1 C. sugar, flour, egg and salt until completed combined.
*Pour mixture over apples.
*Bake on the middle rack of the oven until apples are tender and the crust is golden brown and crisp, approximately 45 minutes – 1 hour.
