Another Mulberry Pie!

Last week when I made a mulberry pie, I made another pie for the freezer. This pie went into the oven on Friday night for our appetizer and dessert dinner to kickstart the holiday weekend.

Again, this pie contained 4 cups of fruit, 1 cup of sugar, 2-4 Tablespoons of flour, some nutmeg and cinnamon. I added a dash of vanilla extract and a bit of lemon (slightest amount). I brushed the inside of the pie shell with vanilla extract. the top received a brush of milk.

I baked the pie for 25 minutes at 450 f. degrees then reduced the temperature to 375 f. degrees for 35 minutes until it was bubbling. I covered the top with a pie rim and foil to prevent over browning.

Im not crazy about the top decoration but we ate the pie with ice cream and we never noticed the wonky top. What a great way to start the weekend!
