Who am I? And why write about pie?

Cut my Pie into four pieces, I don’t think that I could eat eight. ~Yogi Berra

I started this blog to work through pie challenges and difficulties. I haven’t been a life-long baker. I came into mastering baking after taking a class several years ago from the Cambridge Center for Adult Education. The class was more of a demonstration as we all crowded into the instructor’s condo on a snowy Saturday morning. This was my first introduction to Pate Brisee, a classic French version of pie dough. I was hooked! The dough was scrumptious. The process was to use a food processor instead of mixing by hand. It was wonderful.

Since then, I relegated myself to making only a few pies year. I had married, become a mom, and was juggling a career and a home life. Then the kids got older and they started to love when I baked pies.

Most recently I have started taking baking classes again. In 2020, I have taken classes at the Cambridge Center for Adult Education, Culinary Underground and most recently will take a class with the wonderful Kate McDermott at 92nd St Y.

This is how my interest became my passion. Hopefully I can inspire you as well.
